Sony Alpha Landscape Award

Andy Yee won the prestigious Sony Alpha landscape award at the Sony Alpha Awards held in Sydney.

The photograph was taken last year in the Sahara desert while Andy was travelling with the Giving Lens and Open Doors Morocco photography workshop. The equipment used were a Sony A7RII camera and Sony 70-200 f4.0 lens. F-Stop 9.5, Exposure 1/750 sec, ISO 100, Focal length 159mm.

"The landscape category was brutally competitive this year, with dozens of images that we would have been happy to see as finalist. With so many powerful images in contention, the winner had to not only be aesthetically striking, but also technically excellent. Andy's winning image uses a carefully considered minimalistic composition. On closer inspection, however, there is an incredible level of detail waiting to reward the viewer"

Andy’s winning image will be displayed by Sony online and selected specialist photography magazine titles to showcase this achievement and other category (nature, portrait, macro, editorial, abstract and youth) winners.
